Artificial wine lake found in Saudi Arabia
Riyadh: A religious police of Saudi Arabia have traced an artificial lake of wine near a dam in Southern city of Khamis Mushait which contains about 500 ton of intoxicated material.
The local authorities, during a raid, have also recovered as many as 720 bottles of wine from the place, Al-Arabiya reports on Tuesday.
The recovered bottles were filled with wine from the lake and were reported to be transported across the country.
As per the report, district spokesman of ‘Amar Bil Maroof Wa Nahi Anil Munkar’ police Al-Shaikh Aus al-Asmari told Al-Arabiya TV that the police detected the wine lake in a secluded mountainous area during a routine patrolling in the area.
The lake was formed as a wine storage, so that it may be transported from here to the different cities of Kingdom, he said. The police spokesman anticipated the involvement of big groups behind the making of the lake.
The police have taken the pond and other stuff recovered from the area under its control. Investigations regarding the subject have also been initiated.
